Use: Support the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis; document past exposure and/or immunity to Toxoplasma gondii.
Additional Information: Toxoplasma gondii is endemic in cats and is excreted by them in their feces. Humans are easily exposed to cyst forms, and the majority develop antibody without any clinical disease. A self-limiting lymphadenitis is the most common clinical presentation in symptomatic infection. Congenital toxoplasmosis and infections in AIDS patients are more serious.
