Bio-Rad releases allergy test QC controls
Bio-Rad Laboratories has released human-serum based Lyphochek Allergen sIgE quality controls to monitor the precision of in vitro allergy test procedures.
Lyphochek Allergen sIgE Control (Negative and Panel A) are multiconstituent controls that eliminate the need for multiple, single-analyte controls. The controls are analyzed for 15 frequently tested allergen-specific immunoglobin E antibodies that include dust mites, mold, dander, foods, and grasses. Quantitative insert values are provided for three commonly used, fully automated test systems.
“Our consolidated controls mean fewer bottles are required and this results in cost savings, increased efficiencies, and less waste,” Anna Riviere, Bio-Rad product manager, quality systems, said in a statement.
Lyphochek Allergen sIgE Control (Negative, and Panel A) are designed for different instruments and reagent systems that are commonly used in laboratories worldwide, offer a three-year shelf life, as well as reconstituted open-vial stability of 28 days when stored between 2°C to 8°C.
