Red-top tube, gel-barrier tube, lavender-top (EDTA) tube, green-top (heparin) tube, or gray-top (sodium fluoride) tube. Plasma specimens may not be less than one-half full as excess anticoagulant may cause improper results.
Collection:
To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Storage Instructions:
• Serum: Refrigerate up to five days; freeze to store for more than five days.
• Plasma: Refrigerate and test within 48 hours; do not freeze.
